Himilce Novas is the author of Everything you Need to Know about Latino History (Plume, 1994), The Hispanic 100 (Citadel, 1995), Remembering Selena (St. Martin’s Press, 1995, co-authored with Rosemary Silva), and Mangos, Bananas and Coconuts: A Cuban Love Story (Putnam, 1997). She teaches multicultural American literature, speaks five languages, and has traveled extensively through Spain, where her father was born.
Rosemary E. Silva is the author of Latin American Cooking Across the USA (Knopf, 1997, co-authored with Himilce Novas). She speaks six languages, has traveled the world in every vehicle imaginable, and spends several weeks in Spain every year.
