TRANSLATION AND REPRINT RIGHTS

World Trade Press is very active in the sale of translation and reprint rights for its books, maps, and e-content. Since our founding in 1994 we have sold rights in 24 languages for distribution in more than 80 countries.

TYPICAL RIGHTS ARRANGEMENT

Translation and reprint rights deals are negotiated on an individual basis. That said, international rights transactions:

1. Can be exclusive or non-exclusive.
2. Usually last two or three years.
3. Are based on a 10% royalty rate.
4. A complete digital copy of the text, illustrations or photos, and cover artwork are sent by FTP.
5. Cover art is supplied in InDesign or Quark, while text is supplied in Framemaker.
6. Local publisher may use our cover artwork or create their own.
7. All transactions require an advance on royalty, usually equal to the royalty earned on the first press run or first year of sales.

RIGHTS REQUEST

In order to provide you with a quotation for translation or reprint rights we need the following information:

1. Your complete contact information including your name, title, company name, address, country, telephone, fax and email.
2. The specific title(s) of interest. If from a series, each title of interest.
3. Whether your request is for translation or reprint rights.
4. If translation rights, the language of translation.
5. Countries of desired distribution.
6. Estimated number of copies of your first press run for each title.
7. Estimated local retail selling price for each title, in US$, Euro or other major currency.

ACCESS TO PDF FILES

It is World Trade Press policy to supply PDF review copies rather than sending books by courier. In some instances, we may send physical copies.
